Our Favorite Ads from the Big Game LX
With a game as uninteresting as Super Bowl LX, many football fans found themselves, instead, rooting for innovative and captivating advertising.
The commercials were not much better. Viewers were hit with a bombardment of ads for AI services, ads created by AI, or ads letting you know that your doorbell is now spying on you. The future is weird.
Fortunately, there were still a few shining stars in this year’s commercial-galaxy. In no particular order, here our some of our favorite ad spots from the Big Game.
If you’ve ever thought to yourself, “I could really use some Dodgeball level humor, with a pop music celeb, directed by Spike Jonze, and set to… disco!”, well, you’re in luck with this one.
The famously over-serious Adrian Brody, delivers a fantastic overly dramatic, self deprecating, version of himself in this “drama free” TurboTax spot.
Pepsi hit so many references with this one. From the nostalgia of the Pepsi-Challenge, to its competitor’s use of CGI polar bears, and of course Coldplay. This one checked a lot of boxes. Not to mention the unspoken jab at Coke, by way of hiring the polar bear after it was fired in favor of AI.
We sure do love a good pun. Raisin Bran and Will Shatner nail it. Gives vibes of the 2013 Kmart “Ship my pants” ad.
The only thing that makes a pun better, is when it directly contributes to heath and happiness.
Nothing if not consistent. Great visuals, excellent storytelling, clydesdales and a dash of patriotism. No notes.
Yorgos Lanthimos this quirky fake-PSA style Squarespace ad. A little strange, and thats why we liked it.
Every Super Bowl needs that one commercial that tugs at the proverbial heart strings. This is that ad.
